Bikeway & Pedestrian Committee
2nd Annual Sandwich Bike Rodeo
The Sandwich Bikeways & Pedestrian Committee, in conjunction with St. John's Episcopal Church, Sandwich Police Dept., Sandwich Fire Dept., and MassBike will be holding a free bike rodeo at Forestdale School on Saturday, April 27 from 9 a.m. - noon.
The free event will feature bike inspections, riding tips, bike safety, free bike registration (for Sandwich residents) and an obstacle course. All who attend will receive a certificate of participation. The event is geared for bike riders between ages 5 and 12, though anyone is invited to attend and participate. Bring your bikes and helmets and come on down!

The Committee is comprised of five members with up to three alternates with three non-voting representatives: one from The Town of Sandwich Planning and Development Department, Engineering Department, Board of Selectmen, and five appointees from the Board of Selectmen. The five members will serve three-year overlapping terms. Any sitting member who is absent for four meetings in any given year will be asked to step down off the committee.
The Sandwich Bikeways/Pedestrian Committee's mission statement is "To preserve, promote, and enhance The Town of Sandwich's biking and walking resources. The Committee believes that seasonal and year-round bicycling and walking are important means of local transportation and popular activities in the town as well as contributing to our local economic growth and vitality."
