About the Recreation Department:
The Town's Recreation Department offers and sponsors a wide variety of programs and activities for the youth and adults of Sandwich throughout the year such as swimming, sailing, tennis, basketball, cheerleading, football, baseball, softball, soccer, running, 4th of July events, volleyball, lacrosse, racquetball, exercise classes, hikes, walking clubs and other special events. The department oversees lifeguards and activities at Snake Pond and Wakeby Lake and Peters Pond Property throughout the summer. The Recreation Department is also a sponsor of youth sports leagues in Town. The Recreation Committee advises the Recreation Department on activities. The Committee meets the first Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Human Services Building.
