About the Natural Resources Department:
The Natural Resources Department administers the daily workload of the Conservation Commission, acts as the Land Bank Committee contact and negotiator and is entrusted with developing and implementing conservation land management strategies, (including trail development & wildlife habitat diversification); enforcing the Town Wetlands Bylaw, Wetlands Protection Act; shellfish management; alewife (herring) run development and management; oil spill response; enforcing other environmental laws and regulations including shellfishing; fishing; hunting; trapping; and illegal dumping.
