The Finance Committee's primary statutory responsibility is to advise and make recommendations to Town Meeting on the budget and other financial matters. The Finance Committee is primarily responsible for reviewing the proposed budget submitted by the Town Manager and forwarding it to the Board of Selectmen with its recommendations.
The Finance Committee is also charged with submitting a written budget report to the Annual Town Meeting and a written report to the Annual Town Meeting and any Special Town Meeting with its advisory recommendations on all financial warrant articles, and the projected tax impact of the proposal. The Finance Committee is a nine (9) member committee appointed by the Moderator with each member serving a three year term.
