The Town of Sandwich (MA) Fire Department will be accepting sealed bids for the sale of a 2007 Sutphen Fire Engine that is surplus property. The minimum bid is $5,000.00 and the truck will be given in as is condition with mechanical issues listed below, with no warranties or guarantees made by the Town.

The truck can be visually inspected Monday – Friday, 0800 hrs. to 1600 hrs. at Sandwich Fire Department Station No. 1, 115 Route 6A, Sandwich MA. Upon arrival ask for Fire Chief John J. Burke or FF Mechanic Seth Cannon.

1500 gallon per minute pump
750 gallon water tank
25 Gallon Class A foam tank

Conditions:

The Fire Truck will be awarded to the responsive bidder offering the highest price for the vehicle described in the invitation for bids. The awarding authority reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to dispose of the vehicle through a negotiated sale, provided that the negotiated sale price is higher than the highest bid received from a responsive bidder.

Mechanical Issues:

The following are known mechanical issues with the truck.

1. Leaking fuel tank
2. Water Tank Cradle Issue
3. Springs in all 4 tires
4. Rusted Frame
5. There are no rear seats

Bid Requirements:

All bids must use the Town’s bid form and also must include a signed copy of the Town’s Certificate of Non-Collusion form with the bid. All sealed bids must be received no later than 12pm – noon on October 17, 2018. Bid opening will be on October 17, 2018 at Sandwich Fire Department Station No. 1 at 12pm - noon. Payment by the high price awardee must be received within 5 business days of notification of the award of sale of the vehicle by the Town, and the vehicle must be removed off-site at that time. Payment must be in the form of certified funds, such as a bank check or money order. Sealed bids should be sent to:

This Addendum No. 1 is being issued to clarify the terms and conditions of the Invitation to Bid in the following manner:

The “Bid Requirements” are being amended as follows:

• The deadline for receipt of sealed bids has been extended by thirty (30) days. The new deadline for receipt of bids is now October 17, 2018 at 12:00pm noon.

• It is preferred that all bids be addressed as follows on the envelope exterior:
